We have a long association and work exclusively with the world’s leading high security transportation and logistics companies.

Our forwarding agents comply with OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas standards.

Our clients benefit from Valcambi’s global contracts with transportation companies, which ensures the best terms and conditions.

We can arrange transportation from virtually any requested pick-up location with shipping to Valcambi and vice versa, all undertaken in our name or on behalf of our client.

All transportation is fully insured. Any loss of insured metal is paid out in cash.

We can arrange storage facilities for our clients in multiple countries at their final delivery destination.

The refinery with the plan: for our clients we pick up and deliver worldwide, in the shortest possible time, with the best customised solutions and prices.

Transportation Process


We receive a request for shipping rates from our client.


We tender the request and submit our best offer to the client.

Depending on the agreement with our client, the client or Valcambi on their behalf, decides which transportation offer to accept.


Transportation terms and conditions are confirmed to our client including all details, such as:



  • Ground transporter used

  • Any local agent we may appoint on our behalf, depending on the country or the network of transportation agents with whom we work

  • Cost structure for predetermined weight ranges

  • Destination description and the Incoterms (i.e. door-to-door)

  • Insurance coverage

  • Fuel charges (included or excluded)

  • Possible customs, import-export charges (included or excluded)

  • Validity of the offer

  • Terms and conditions of the forwarding agent


Transportation for miners


Valcambi provides offers from two to three forwarding agents.


Depending on the agreement with the mine, Valcambi or the mine choose the most suitable forwarding agent.


On request, the transportation contract can be an integral part of the refining agreement between Valcambi and the mine.


If Valcambi arranges the pick-up on behalf of the mine, the following shipping advice and information is required from the mine:



  • Number of packages or boxes

  • Gross weight of packaging, bags, and bars

  • Number of bags/bars and seals numbers

  • Total net weight of each bar

  • Total estimated gold content of shipment in ounces

  • Estimated silver content of shipment in ounces

  • Other information relating to the shipment as Valcambi may reasonably request (e.g. AWB)

  • Name of the client’s representative at the weighing, melting, and sampling procedures if one is designated


Once the shipment arrives, Valcambi informs the mine through the forwarding agent that the goods have been delivered to and received by Valcambi.


Transportation for bankers


The bank can be provided with door-to-door and/or door-to-airport quotations from and/or to Valcambi.


Valcambi provides offers from two to three forwarding agents.


The bank chooses the most suitable forwarding agent for its purposes.


Shipment

to Valcambi


If Valcambi arranges the pick-up at the designated delivery point, the following shipping advice and information is required from the bank:



  • Description of the material

  • Number of packages or boxes

  • Gross weight of packaging, bags, and pieces

  • Number of bags/bars and seals numbers

  • Total net weight

  • Total estimated gold/silver content of shipment in ounces

  • Other information relating to the shipment as Valcambi may reasonably request (e.g. AWB)

  • Name of the client’s representative at the weighing, melting, and sampling procedures if one is designated


Once the shipment arrives, Valcambi informs the bank or their forwarding agent that the goods have been delivered to and received by Valcambi.


Shipment

Valcambi packs the goods in accordance with international standards and submits the following details:



  • Number of packages or boxes

  • Gross weight of packaging and pieces

  • Number of pieces

  • Total net weight

  • Net weight of each piece

  • Other information relating to the shipment as the bank may reasonably request (e.g. AWB)


Valcambi sends a copy of all the documents issued for the delivery to the bank, via the forwarding agent.


Transportation for refiners


Valcambi provides the refiner offers from    two to three forwarding agents.


Depending on the agreement with the client, Valcambi or the refiner choose the most suitable forwarding agent.

If Valcambi arranges the pick-up on behalf of the refiner, the following shipping advice and information are required from the refiner:



  • Number of packages or boxes

Once the shipment arrives, Valcambi informs the refiner that the goods have been delivered to and received by Valcambi.

  • Import services and transportation from Zürich Airport to Valcambi

  • Transportation ex Valcambi door-to-door or door-to-airport


Transportation for scrap dealers


Valcambi provides the scrap dealer offers from  two to three forwarding agents.


The client chooses the most suitable forwarding agent for its purposes.


If Valcambi arranges the pick-up at the designated delivery point, the following shipping advice and information are required from the client:



  • Description of the material

  • Number of packages or boxes

  • Gross weight of packaging, bags, and pieces

  • Number of bags/pieces and seals numbers

  • Total net weight

  • Total estimated gold/silver content of shipment in ounces

  • Other information relating to the shipment as the client may reasonably request (e.g. AWB)

  • Name of the client’s representative at the weighing, melting, and sampling procedures if one is designated


Once the shipment arrives, Valcambi informs the client that the goods have been delivered to and received by Valcambi.


Transportation for watchmakers


Valcambi offers watchmakers three types of logistical arrangements:



  • Shipping is arranged by Valcambi with shipping rates integrated into the semi-finished product quotation.

  • Shipping is arranged by Valcambi with shipping costs charged to the client by Valcambi or paid directly by the client.

  • Shipping is arranged and paid directly by the client.

If Valcambi arranges the pick-up at the client’s premises, the following shipping advice and information is required from the client:



  • Description – alloy type and kind of production process from which the scrap originates

  • Number of packages or boxes

  • Gross weight of packaging and pieces

  • Number of pieces and seals numbers

  • Total net weight

  • The total estimated gold and silver content of shipment and other information relating to the shipment as Valcambi may reasonably request (e.g. AWB)


Name of the client’s representative at the weighing, melting, and sampling procedures if one is designated
